You'll see this message for a variety of reasons, but essentially your PURE radio is telling you it can't see the station you've requested, either because you aren't connected to the internet, or you have local network issues preventing you tuning your internet radio, or the station is not available (either because it is temporarily off air or the station URL has changed).
Because of the varying possibilities - its best to ensure you work through the problem as methodically as possible. This 'Step By Step' guide is designed to take you through the most common reasons you'll see this message, and hopefully offer you a solution
Check list...
There are a few things you need to have in place before starting this guide.
- You will need to have your PURE internet radio in front of you and plugged in to the mains.
- Your radio should be well within range of your wireless router - preferably in the same room for the sake of this test.
- You will need to know the name of your wireless network. Wireless network names are broadcast and are called SSID’s. If you are unsure of the name of your network check your router settings for its SSID. You may need to consult your Internet Service Provider (ISP) or your router user guide to help you get access to this information.
- You will need to know your personal wireless network security key – otherwise known as a WEP or WPA key. If you haven’t set one yourself then you may find the key written on your wireless router. You should contact your Internet Service Provider (ISP) if you don't know your network key. It’s important to note that you will not be able to get your radio connected to your network and the internet without knowing this key.
Ok that’s the check list done. If you have all of the above then you should have no problems using this guide.
